Serving our Community
All church caring ministries are available to anyone who attends Cornerstone or lives in the local community (Murrysville, PA) based on staff and resource capacity.
If you need care, here’s how you can obtain an intake form and/or get more information:
- Stop by the Cornerstone Ministries office during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM).
- Visit the Info Center in the Lobby before or after any weekend service (Saturdays at 6 PM, Sundays at 8:30, 10, or 11:30 AM).
- Contact the Caring Department directly by calling 724.733.0070 x213.
Ministries
How We can Help
We all have difficult seasons in our lives: job loss, relationship challenges, financial stress, accidents, illness, or grief. During these tough times, you don’t have to feel alone.
One of Cornerstone’s core objectives is to help the hurting, so in every way possible we strive to offer practical care and support to those in need.
Here are some of the many Caring Ministry programs we offer to help those within our church and our local community:
Home Repair
We can assist with minor home issues. However, the Hope Center is not equipped to handle emergencies, major structural or foundational problems, plumbing or roof problems, or yard work.
Appliance Repair
Limited repairs are performed. We accept working appliances for donation purposes.
Car Repair
Limited auto repairs and donated vehicle ministry. We accept vehicle donations!
Practical Assistance
Cornerstone can assist with certain financial hardships. Please note: Practical assistance applications are only available at the Info Center in the Lobby during weekend services. Limited financial assistance is available for household utilities and rent.
How to Apply
FoodBank Pantry
We are a distribution site for the Westmoreland County Food Pantry. Distribution is on the first Tuesday of every month between 1 PM–5 PM.
Addiction Recovery
Revive and Restore is Cornerstone’s recovery ministry with several support groups to come along side you in your journey to healing.
Veterans Connect
Provides fellowship, support, and resources for church and community veterans.
Caring Friends
Ministers to homebound persons by providing fellowship visits.
Loving Hearts
Ministers to residents of local nursing homes through bible studies, activities, and fellowship visits.
Counseling Services
Cornerstone offers wise, biblical counseling to individuals, couples, children, and families.
Care Groups
Cornerstone provides a variety of support groups for those facing difficulty. Divorce Care & Grief Share small groups meet throughout the year.
Christmas Outreach
We know that Christmas can be a difficult time of year for some families. During the Christmas season, Cornerstone provides food baskets and Christmas gifts for the children of local families facing economic challenges. Food baskets and Christmas gifts are provided through the generosity of our congregation.
Applications are available during the weekend services and can be found at the information center located in the main sanctuary lobby. To process your application, you must submit proof of income for all adults and children living in the home. We are unable to start the process without proof of income. In addition to proof of income, a copy of the item you wish assistance with is also a requirement. We have a multiple-step approval process. First, your application will go to a review committee to decide if the work requested is within the scope of what we can provide and if you are within our financial guidelines. Please know we have a two-week turnaround time on financial assistance requests; we are not equipped to handle financial emergencies. Submission of an application does not guarantee participation or completion of a request.
Uncommon
All-Church Service Weekend
One special service opportunity at Cornerstone Ministries is Uncommon Service Weekend. Once a year we cancel traditional church services and our entire church goes out into local communities and worships God by serving others. Projects range from simple cleaning, painting, and yard work, to more extensive building and repair work. There are activities for all ages and skill levels. Those receiving support do not have to be Cornerstone attendees. It’s one of the best weekends of the year, and we hope you’ll plan to get involved!

If you are interested in having your wedding ceremony officiated by a Cornerstone Pastor, we request you review our wedding guidelines and complete a wedding application.
Memorial Services
